Afua Collective’s founder, Jessica Tsiquaye, has promised to donate 50% of her DJ profits in 2027 to support the initiative’s projects for children and young people in Ghana.

Music and community

Alongside her work as a digital project manager, Jessica is a DJ. Through music, she has worked with a wide range of grassroots collectives and organisations, bringing together two things she loves: creativity and community.

From a fundraiser tackling period poverty to community events, these experiences have shown her how music can bring people together to support a cause. She also hosted her own radio show, showcasing women DJs from different places and across different genres, celebrating their talent and creating space for better representation.

The pledge builds on this work, connecting her DJing with her commitment to communities in Ghana.

What the pledge will support

The funds will contribute towards improving access to education through Project Aya and supporting children at an orphanage in Tema through Project Akoma.

Alongside donations, Jessica’s contribution will help these projects keep growing and build towards longer-term support. Afua Collective is starting small, with a focus on developing work that can be sustained over time.
